Requirements according to type of revision

VTI Inscription

Technical Inspectiion for the vehicles of first entry to the country.

Documents: Single Customs Declaration (DUA=Documento Unico de Aduana) Current Identification and license corresponding to the vehicle to be inspected.

Other: Vehicles. In cases of donated or auctioned vehicles, you must present a Donation Certificate or an Auction ticket. If it is a trailer or semitrailer of national manufacture, you must at least present the study of the Mechanical Engineer with the following characteristics: category, bodywork, brand, style, model, empty weight kg (net weight), payload kg, maximum authorized weight kg Gross weight), axes, date of manufacture. The study must include the Engineer’s full name, ID and the ID number of the Federated College of Engineers and Architects (CFIA).

The registration owner is not required.

Data update Procedure

It takes place when the customer purchases a vehicle for registration in the Property Registry.

Documents: Title of property or a rapid certification of the Public Registry, and identification.

Other: License Plates.

The registration owner is not required.

Vehicle presence is not required.

Periodic VTI

Corresponding to the annual revision.

Documents: Title of property or a fast certification of Public Registry, current identification and license corresponding to the vehicle to be checked.

Other: The vehicle.

The registration owner is not required.

Reinspection

The Second Technical Inspection that is made to correct the serious or minor defaults that were observed in the first VTI.

Documents: Previous TRT (Technical Review Sheet with defects), current identification and license.

Other: The vehicle.

The registration owner is not required.

VTI Voluntary

Inspection requested by the client to know the current mechanical condition of the vehicle outside the official call, it does not have validity for traffic law issues.  

Documents: Title of property or a rapid certification of the Public Registry, current identification and license.

Other: The vehicle.

The registration owner is not required.

Duplicate Inspection

It is performed when a duplicate of the VTI documents is required due to loss or deterioration.

Documents: Title of property or a rapid certification of the Public Registry, current identification and license.

Other: The vehicle.

The registration owner is not required.

Important: Although the VTI must be performed again, if a defect is detected, this will not have any consequence in the VTI in force. The user will only be reported to take the appropriate security measures.

VTI Change of characteristics

It is done when the customer has made some changes in the vehicle like, category, bodywork, engine number, among others. It is not valid, it is performed only to make the changes.

Other: The vehicle.
